Seek and apply constructive feedback from supervisors and teachers to improve teaching practices. Contribute to collegial discussions and apply constructive feedback from colleagues to improve professional knowledge and practice. Initiate and engage in professional discussions with colleagues in a range of forums to evaluate practice directed at improving professional knowledge and practice, and the educational outcomes of students. Implement professional dialogue within the school or professional learning network(s) that is informed by feedback, analysis of current research and practice to improve the educational outcomes of students.

I have contributed to collegial discussions and applied constructive feedback from colleagues to improve professional knowledge and practice. I have been involved in performance management in which I have met with my Head of Learning Area (HOLA) to discuss my professional development as a teacher. A prerequisite to this meeting was that I completed a self reflection tool based on the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers. Within this tool I selected a statement which best described how I had met each of the 37 focus areas with reference to that particular focus area or descriptor. After selecting the statement which best described my opinion of self development in that focus area, I discussed each focus area with the HOLA. Advice and constructive criticism was offered which provided information and feedback on areas in which I could improve in the future. My completed self reflection tool is detailed below.

Furthermore, every learning area or department I have been involved with will conduct weekly or fortnightly meetings during which any issues, significant news or upcoming events are discussed. These meetings have provided me with the opportunity to discuss any issues or questions I may have with senior or more experienced staff.

I have also collaborated with senior teachers with regards to student worksheets, assessment tasks and activities. An example of a Year 10 Health Education assessment task I used is evidenced below with amendments from a senior teacher. I approached the teacher and asked if they would be able to provide constructive feedback in order to improve the assessment task. Through the use of collaboration, the assessment task was improved which increased student understanding of the subject and therefore learning.
